Attention owners of Winchester model 100 rifles and carbines please read this notice. “PRODUCT SAFETY WARNING AND REPLACEMENT NOTICE. ![]() ![]() WINCHESTER MODEL 100 FIRING PIN RECALL - A notice dated 7-1990 relates the following: Try to find a new stock for one of those.sheeeeesh. We managed to salvage the stock with a repair but the break went all the way down the basketweave checkering on both sides of the forearm and while it is still serviceable, it will never look the same. Since you already have one in 308, I will assume you are aware of the proper takedown by holding the charge hndl all the way to the rear when dismounting from the wood a friend of mine didn't and broke the stock trying to get it out of the wood to clean. Damaged or worn out mags wll also cause a feed prob. If the extractor, plungers and springs are in good shape (as well as the gas tube, obviously) there shouldn't be any prob. ![]() After the repair with a new tube, function was as reliable as before. I never heard of a repair to anything inside the action to fix a feep prob unless it had something to do with the bolt (stuck ejectors for example) or ramp angle (which I neer had to change or repair).I repaired one that had a badly pitted gas tube andd would not eject properly.
